Become a REALTORŪ

Are you considering becoming a licensed real estate agent?
Your first step is to take a Pre-Licensing Course.

How is an Indiana Real Estate Sales License obtained?
To obtain a sales license one must:

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Have 54 hours of real estate pre-license sales education, and pass the course examination with a passing grade of 75% of better.
  • Successfully pass the state licensing exam.
The sales exam is currently comprised of 130 multiple choice questions divided into two sections. Each section must be passed independently before applying for a license. The exam is prepared, administered, and scored by a professional third-party testing service under contract with the state. The license exam is administered daily except Sundays and Mondays.

Once you have your license, you will interview with Principal Brokers of companies for a position. At that point you will be joining the REALTORŪ family.

You will select a local Association of REALTORSŪ to join. Your Principal Broker will explain to you which Association they hold primary membership.
